About the Design: Multiholk Yellow Cottage
The yellow hue of the Multiholk Villa echoes one of today's most prevalent house colours in Sweden. Towards the late 17th century, Stockholm's city architect envisioned a city shining with light and enhanced beauty. King Charles XII issued a decree urging citizens to paint their homes yellow to realise this vision. The opulent palaces of Southern Europe inspired this colour choice; the intent was for the yellow to mimic the sandstone used in extravagant architectural works.
Cottage Birdhouse for Small Wild Birds
We develop our Multiholks in collaboration with ornithological experts, ensuring key adaptations that help the wild birds thrive are part of the core design. As a nest, the Multiholk's construction suits birds no larger than sparrows and tits. Climbing notches underneath the exit hole ensure the fledglings can exit to test their wings. Ventilation holes keep the wooden bird box cool on warm summer days.
Always position birdhouses no less than 150 cm above ground level to ensure the birds' safety.
Feed Birds the Right Way
Hygiene is at the core of a high-quality bird feeder. Open platform feeders risk diseases spreading as bird droppings contaminate the food. Our bird feeders prioritise bird health by preventing direct contact with the food. The design additionally shields the food from the elements, prolonging its freshness. To accommodate small birds and provide a peaceful dining atmosphere, the Multiholk features adjustable perches'simply push them in to prevent larger birds from landing.
Want to give the small birds a chance to eat in peace? The Multiholk allows you to adjust the length of the perches so that only the smallest birds can take a pew. Simply push the perches further into the sides of the house to change their size.
NOTE: to make your Multiholk last longer and keep its visitors healthy, we recommend you clean your Multiholk at least once a year. Wash it well with warm water and soap. Always use gloves when you handle used birdhouses or feeders.
